Present Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi has missed out on the 30-man shortlist for this year’s award following a disappointing debut campaign with PSG. His teammate, Neymar, couldn’t make the shortlist too as long time rival, Cristiano Ronaldo is included in the 30-man shortlist.

Karim Benzema, who happens to be the favorite to get the Ballon d’Or following an amazing Champions League outing, made the list alongside premier league stars such as Kevin de Bruyne, Son as well Salah. However, Sadio Mane, who currently plays for Bundesliga champions, made the 30 man shortlist.
