FULL-TIME

Crystal Palace 0-2 Arsenal

This is a tricky place to come. Arsenal have suffered here before in recent times and they were made to battle again tonight. But Mikel Arteta’s ambitious side start with a win.

90 mins

Crystal Palace 0-2 Arsenal

Normal time is up. Palace are still trying to make something happen, but the fact the Arsenal fans are singing for Patrick Vieira suggests they think this is very much done and dusted.

89 mins

Crystal Palace 0-2 Arsenal

There is only one set of fans singing now.Arsenal have had to defend for long periods this half. They’ve been under pressure and looked to be rocking at moments, but they are going to be taking the three points.A big victory for Mikel Arteta and his men.

88 mins

SUBSTITUTION

Crystal Palace 0-2 Arsenal

Palace respond to the second Gunners goal by sending on Will Hughes and Malcolm Ebiowei for his debut. This game is surely gone, though.Eberechi Eze and Jeffrey Schlupp are off.

GOAL – Crystal Palace 0-2 Arsenal

Marc Guehi own goal

A sucker punch kills it!

Arsenal break and find Bukayo Saka out on the right. His cross takes a huge deflection off the unfortunate Marc Guehi and rifles into the net

82 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Palace continue to turn the screw. There are half-hearted calls for a penalty before Wilfried Zaha sets up Jean-Philippe Mateta for a fluffed shot.Soon after, Eberechi Eze goes down on the edge of the box but no foul is given. He did drop under minimum contact from Saka. It is all Palace, though.

80 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

It really isn’t sticking up top for Arsenal now.Gabriel Jesus is getting very few touches after being much more involved before the break.Ten minutes remain with the Gunners lead a fragile one.

79 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Still no sign of an Arsenal change. Could Mohamed Elneny strengthen things up in the middle for the Gunners?

77 mins

SUBSTITUTION

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

A second Palace change sees Luka Milivojevic replace Cheick Doucoure, who is clearly feeling a niggle. A disappointing end to the Mali international’s debut.

75 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal players are getting some strongly-worded instructions from Mikel Arteta. He needs them to get hold of the ball and keep it higher up the pitch.Palace will get the chances to score at east a leveller here if the momentum continues like it has for much of this half.

72 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

If Arsenal are to go one better than last year and achieve that Champions League goal then the next 20 minutes will help illustrate how ready they are for the battle. It is never too early to show how deep you can dig.

66 mins

YELLOW CARD

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Nathaniel Clyne is the latest man into the book as the ref picks up on a foul from a moment or two ago on Gabriel Martinelli. Solid refereeing from Anthony Taylor.

63 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Big chance! Joachim Anderson wins the header from the corner to head the ball towards the six-yard box. William Saliba kicks the ball against Jordan Ayew and the ball flies towards goal before striking Aaron Ramsdale.Sloppy from Arsenal.

56 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Saliba has had to bide his time for a chance at Arsenal. Looks the part, though.

54 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Save! Palace with another glorious chance, but Aaron Ramsdale does his job once more. Wilfried Zaha’s angled ball puts Eberechi Eze in on goal. he goes low with his shot and the Gunners keeper blocks. Should possibly have gone for a chip.

53 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Joachim Anderson has been good for Palace. He heads away the corner to set the home side away on the break…

50 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Not sure about this Palace kit. It looks like what I’d get if I asked my young niece to draw their kit from last season.

KICK-OFF

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Are Arsenal heading for a winning start or can Palace get their way back into this? Let’s find out shall

HALF-TIME

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Decent first 45 minutes of the season.

45 mins

YELLOW CARD

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Granit Xhaka gets the season’s first booking. It is for diving. He can’t complain at all, either. He just flopped as he tried to run past Joachim Anderson after pretty much zero contact. Not sure why he feels the need to remonstrate with the ref. Bt embarrassing for you, that mate.

43 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

You have to be scoring those, especially in a game where you are getting so few chances. He snatched at it, perhaps as a sign of just how precious the home players know these openings are for Palace.

42 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Big chance! Palace should be level! The free-kick is swung into the box and met by the head of Joachim Anderson to nod back across goal. The ball goes straight to Odsonne Edouard, who has time and space to glance a header on target but straight at Aaron Ramsdale.

40 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal stand firm. William Saliba gets his head to Eberechi Eze’s delivery to get the ball away from danger.

37 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Last-ditch clearance! Joachim Anderson cuts out Ben White’s low cross and then Cheick Doucoure hammers the ball away ahead of Gabriel Jesus.Arsenal continuing to dominate.

33 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Take a bow, Bukayo Saka. The Arsenal winger tracks back and gets himself between man and ball as Wilfried Zaha looks to buy a yard to curl in a shot.

29 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Sloppy from Arsenal. Aaron Ramsdale boots a clearance straight at Odsonne Edouard to invite Palace forward. They can’t take advantage, though.

27 min

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal win another corner after threatening the Palace box. When Arsenal win the ball back in transition and with the home side committed they are such a danger.

22 mins

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

To be fair, that had been coming.Palace looked to have sorted themselves out a bit at the back, though, only to get undone by a set-piece routine. Sloppy marking let the home side down.

GOAL – Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

Gabriel Martinelli

Martinelli’s revenge!

15 mins

Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal

You’ll probably remember that

12mins

Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal

Palace have a colourful and noisy Selhurst Park home crowd behind them as they absorb early pressure from Arsenal.

3 mins

Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal’s first little period of pressure almost yields something as a quickly-taken free-kick finds Martin Odegaard but his cute pass into the box is cut out.

1′ Referee kicks start the season has the game goes live between Palace and Arsenal

Rating: 1 out of 5.

By Jay Jay Eyibio (Fleks Sports)

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is set to kickoff on Sunday, 20th November, with the host nation, Qatar taking on South American side, Ecuador. This will be the very first clash in group A and will be played at the Al Bayt Stadium.

The Al Bayt Stadium plays host to the first World Cup game in Qatar by 17:00(GMT+1)

The Qatar national team is being coached by Felix Sanchez Bas while the Ecuador national team has Gustavo Alfaro as its head coach.

Felix Sanchez Bas will be leading Qatar in their first ever World Cup appearance.

This will be the very first appearance of Qatar in a World Cup Tournament and fourth for Ecuador. However, this is the first World Cup appearance for Ecuador in eight years as they failed to secure a spot in the Russia 2018 World Cup.

Match Preview

Qatar National Team๐Ÿ‡ถ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Qatar have been drawn against defending African Cup of nations champions, Senegal and world cup finalists, Netherlands in Group A. This seems to be a very huge challenge for the Qatari side ranked 50th in the world. However, Qatar had taken part in four preparatory friendly games since October winning all four games. This games were against Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and Albania. Qatar aims at becoming the first world cup debutants to win their opening match after Senegal defeated defending champions, France, way back in 2002. Qatar would also be very careful so as not to become the second World Cup host not to scale through the group stages(fate that occurred to South Africa in 2010).

Ecuador National Team ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡จ
Ecuador survived the threat of expulsion from the world cup tournament after fielding and ineligible player in qualifiers. With all of this, Ecuador makes a return to the FIFA tournament after missing a spot at Russia 2018. Ecuador had previously appeared in the 2002, 2006 and 2014 world cup editions but have only progressed beyond the group stages once.
Ecuador had played six warm up games winning two and drawing four. However, they’ve not conceded any goal in any of these games.

By Jay Eyibio

The Gunners look forward to extending their winning streak this season as the host the Cottagers at the Emirates stadium in what will be last game in Saturday’s EPL fixtures.
Arsenal is the only English team this season that could boast of a 100% win at this stage of the 2022/2023 EPL season.
They are presently seated on top of the table with 9 points from three games.
Fulham have also been unbeaten so far this season, recording two consecutive draws against Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers before getting an emphatic win over Brentford last weekend.
Fulham are currently 7th on the Premier League table.

Preview

The Gunners have started the 2022/2023 season in great form majorly as a result of Jesus in the final third. Arsenal have recorded wins over Crystal Palace, Leicester City and most recently over Bournemouth.
Arsenal still have two more home fixtures against Fulham and Aston Villa before travelling to the Old Trafford to take on Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Fulham have been unable to secure consecutive Premier League seasons since 2014, dropping off into the Championship following their last two promotions to the top flight.
The Cottagers, however, have started off this season in great style, picking up five points out of a possible nine, placing them in seventh position.
Mitrovic’s 90th minute goal ensured that Fulham get their first straight win over Brentford at the Craven Cottage.
However, Fulham fell 2-0 behind Crawley Town in the EFL cup on Tuesday night, this exiting the competition.

Both teams last met in April 2021 in a game that ended in a 1-all draw. However, the Cottagers have not beaten their London rivals since January, 2012.

MATCH PREVIEW: SOUTHAMPTON VS MANCHESTER UNITED ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟSouthampton welcomes Manchester United to the Saint Mary’s Stadium in the early kickoff of MatchDay 4 in the EPL; Ronaldo likely to remain as a substitute; New signing, Casemiro, set to feature.

By Jay Eyibio

After an exciting triumph over Liverpool in their last Premier League game, Manchester United are set to face Southampton in a game away from the Old Trafford.
United’s victory over Liverpool last Monday had seen them move five places up from an initial 19th spot to the 14th spot on the EPL table.
Southampton, on the other hand, picked up maximum three points in their last game against Leicester City.
The saints are presently seated on the 11th spot on the EPL table.

Preview

Southampton go into this game with a bit of confidence as they had humbled a struggling Leicester City side last weekend. Recall that Maddison had put the Foxes in the lead in the 54th minute. Che Adams came off the bench and scored twice to ensure that Southampton secured all three points.
Also on Tuesday, Southampton defeated Cambridge United by 3 goals to nil to progress to the third round of the EFL cup.

Manchester United will be looking forward to getting a second Premier League win this season. Goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford ensured the win for United against Liverpool at the Old Trafford. With the arrival of the club’s new signing, Casemiro, who’s likely to debut in the game against the Saints, there seems to be some boost in the United’s camp.
Southampton have not won United since January 2016 with their last home win against the Red Devils coming in April 2003. However, the last time both teams met, the game ended in a 1-all draw.

Team News

Southampton

There seems to be an exciting news for Hasenhutti’s camp on the return of Romain Perraud to training. He’s most likely to start on the bench.
However, the team sis not expected to be different from that which started in the game against Leicester City. Lavia, Moussa Djenepo, Joe Aribo and Mohammed Salisu will be back in the starting XI following the EFL cup clash with Cambridge United on Tuesday.

Leicester City play host to Southampton at the King Power stadium. Leicester City are winless in their first two Premier League season and will be looking forward to getting their first win against Southampton.
Leicester City are sitting on 15th on the Premier League table with Southampton, just two spots below them.

Leicester City’s home ground hosts the game between LCFC and Southampton by 15:00 GMT+1

Preview

With the possible departures of Wesley Fofana, Tielemans and Jamie Vardy, it has become eminent for Rodgers to make new signings but this shouldn’t be a priority over getting the Leicester City team to get a first win since the resumption of the 2022/2023 Premier League season.
Leicester City have scored twice in each of their games against Brentford and Arsenal but have only garnered one point from the two games. Leicester City will face Chelsea and Manchester United consecutively after their game with Southampton, hence the need to get a win over Southampton.

On the other hand, the Southampton side had shown a great come back last weekend when they bounced back from an initial 2-0 down time against Leeds United courtesy of goals from Joe Aribo and Kyle Walker-Peters in the final 18 minutes.
However, Southampton have to put in a great deal of work in their leaking defence.

Southampton have remained winless in their last four games against the Foxes, with their last win coming in January, 2020.

Team News

Leicester City
Fofana will likely retain his spot in the backline. Soyancu may replace Daniel Amartey with Kelechi Iheanacho likely to get a spot in the final third.

Amidst transfer rush, Fofana is likely to start in the backline for the Foxes.

Southampton

There are chances of having changes in the final third as Aribo, Mara and Adam Armstrong all have cases to be recalled.
