90 mins
Crystal Palace 0-2 Arsenal
Normal time is up. Palace are still trying to make something happen, but the fact the Arsenal fans are singing for Patrick Vieira suggests they think this is very much done and dusted.
89 mins
Crystal Palace 0-2 Arsenal
There is only one set of fans singing now.Arsenal have had to defend for long periods this half. They’ve been under pressure and looked to be rocking at moments, but they are going to be taking the three points.A big victory for Mikel Arteta and his men.
88 mins
SUBSTITUTION

Palace continue to turn the screw. There are half-hearted calls for a penalty before Wilfried Zaha sets up Jean-Philippe Mateta for a fluffed shot.Soon after, Eberechi Eze goes down on the edge of the box but no foul is given. He did drop under minimum contact from Saka. It is all Palace, though.

A second Palace change sees Luka Milivojevic replace Cheick Doucoure, who is clearly feeling a niggle. A disappointing end to the Mali international’s debut.
75 mins

HALF-TIME
Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal
Decent first 45 minutes of the season.

Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal
Granit Xhaka gets the season’s first booking. It is for diving. He can’t complain at all, either. He just flopped as he tried to run past Joachim Anderson after pretty much zero contact. Not sure why he feels the need to remonstrate with the ref. Bt embarrassing for you, that mate.

To be fair, that had been coming.Palace looked to have sorted themselves out a bit at the back, though, only to get undone by a set-piece routine. Sloppy marking let the home side down.

The 2022/2023 Premier League season comes alive on Friday night with an exciting London Derby. Patrick Vierra’s side, Crystal Palace welcome Arsenal to the Selhurst Park in what would be the kickoff game for the new season.
Recall that the Gunners failed to beat the Eagles last season losing 3-0 at the Selhurst Park which deeply affected their chances to secure a Champions League spot and managing a 2 all draw at home meaning that Vierra’s side secured 4 points out of a possible 6. Revitalized Arsenal would likely love to prove a point in this Premier League opener.
Both teams have had an impressive run throughout the preseason friendlies. A closer look at their preseason results will give an in-depth analysis on the strength of both sides.

The English Premier League is set to return on the 5th of August, 2022 with a breathtaking clash between newly revived Arsenal and The Eagles right in front of the Homesdale Fanatics. EPL opener: Crystal Palace vs Arsenal (London Stadium- 20:00 GMT+1)
Meanwhile, newly crowned Community Shield Champions, Liverpool will take on newly promoted side, Fulham in the second fixture of MatchDay 1 on the 6th of August,2022. Defending champions, Manchester City will be looking forward to begin thier title defence in a game against West Ham on the 7th of August, 2022 at the London stadium.
However, there will be a mid-season break on the weekend of 12-13 November, 2022 ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with it’s subsequent resumption on the 26th of December, 2022, barely a week after the Finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
As every other regular season, 20 teams will be participating this season with three newly promoted sides from the championship included. Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest are the newly promoted sides replacing the likes of Burnley, Watford and Norwich City who relegated to the Championship. Burnley had spent 6 seasons in the Premier League while Burnley and Watford both spent a single season before their relegation. Fulham and Bournemouth on the other hand are back in the premier league after a 1 and 2 year spell respectively in the Championship. Nottingham Forest are back in the Premier League for the first time in 23 years, the longest absence for a previous Premier League Club in the Premier League till date.

The 31st edition of the premier league is expected to be brought to an end on the 28th of May, 2023. An incredible season is underway 🔥🔥. Let me know your thoughts on the 2022/2023 premier league season in the comment section.
The champions league comes alive on Tuesday night with the last two clashes in the champions league round of 16 encounters.
Ajax and Benfica will meet for the second leg of the round of 16 game in Amsterdam by 21:00 (GMT +1). The first leg clash had ended in a 2-all draw.s
Dusan Tadic’s early strike in the 18th minute had put Ajax in the lead during their first leg game. Shortly afterwards, Sebastian Haller with his own goal leveled up things for Benfica. Haller, who incidentally is the highest goalscorer so far in the champions league(2021/2022 season) put Ajax once again in the lead with a mouthwatering shot in the 29th minute. Benfica’s Yaremchuk came off the bench to get the equalizing goal for Benfica.
The Portuguese side are making their sixth knockout appearance and are looking to reach the quarter-finals for the fifth time, while Ajax are in the round of 16 for only the second occasion since 2005/06 but reached the semi-finals the last time they got this far, three seasons ago.
This is one of two ties in the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League round of 16, along with Inter-Liverpool, to bring together two former European Cup winners.
On the other hand, Manchester United will host Atletico Madrid at the Old Trafford for the second leg game by 21:00 (GMT +1). Recall that their first leg encounter had ended in 1-all draw.
Joao Felix had opened the scoring for the Spanish giant in the seventh minute and we’re confident of getting the win until Manchester United’s substitute player, Anthony Elanga, leveled things up for United in the 80th minute, just five minutes after coming up.
Elanga’s goal was the 400th scored by United in the UEFA Champions League, group stage to final, and also the 100th conceded by Atlético. While Atletico have reached the knockout rounds for the eighth time in the last nine seasons, their English opponents are in the last 16 for the first time since 2018/19 – although this is their 12th appearance at this stage overall, three more than the Spanish club.
Two teams from this two fixtures will be looking forward to join Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Liverpool who have already qualified for the Quarterfinals of the champions league⚽.
