After an exciting triumph over Liverpool in their last Premier League game, Manchester United are set to face Southampton in a game away from the Old Trafford.
United’s victory over Liverpool last Monday had seen them move five places up from an initial 19th spot to the 14th spot on the EPL table.
Southampton, on the other hand, picked up maximum three points in their last game against Leicester City.
The saints are presently seated on the 11th spot on the EPL table.
Preview
Southampton go into this game with a bit of confidence as they had humbled a struggling Leicester City side last weekend. Recall that Maddison had put the Foxes in the lead in the 54th minute. Che Adams came off the bench and scored twice to ensure that Southampton secured all three points.
Also on Tuesday, Southampton defeated Cambridge United by 3 goals to nil to progress to the third round of the EFL cup.
Manchester United will be looking forward to getting a second Premier League win this season. Goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford ensured the win for United against Liverpool at the Old Trafford. With the arrival of the club’s new signing, Casemiro, who’s likely to debut in the game against the Saints, there seems to be some boost in the United’s camp.
Southampton have not won United since January 2016 with their last home win against the Red Devils coming in April 2003. However, the last time both teams met, the game ended in a 1-all draw.
Team News
Southampton
There seems to be an exciting news for Hasenhutti’s camp on the return of Romain Perraud to training. He’s most likely to start on the bench.
However, the team sis not expected to be different from that which started in the game against Leicester City. Lavia, Moussa Djenepo, Joe Aribo and Mohammed Salisu will be back in the starting XI following the EFL cup clash with Cambridge United on Tuesday.

Manchester United
The trio of Harry Maguire, Ronaldo and Luke Shaw are likely to remain as substitutes.
New signing, Casemiro is likely to debut and this could be at the detriment of Scott McTominay.
Anthony Martial might replace Anthony Elanga with Varane and Malacia retaining their spots in the XI

Southampton possible starting lineup:
Bazunu; Walker-Peters, Bella-Kotchap, Salisu, Djenepo; Ward-Prowse, Lavia; Aribo, Elyounoussi, A Armstrong; Adams
Manchester United possible starting lineup:
De Gea; Dalot, Varane, L Martinez, Malacia; Fernandes, Casemiro, Eriksen; Sancho, Rashford, Elanga
Casemiro might make a stunt but Southampton recently are focused. How I wish I would have time, I would have loved to watch this game.
